THE JASON SCHWARTZ PROJECT ushers in the second half of
the Agawam Cultural Council's Applause Series at 7:30 p.m. at the Agawam Public
Library. The group performs traditional jazz including standards from the great
names in jazz such as Miles Davis, Charles Mingus and John Coltrane. The event

Sunday, Jan. 10
THE AGAWAM HISTORICAL ASSOC. will offer a free slide show
from 1-4 p.m. featuring a tour of the Bodurtha house next door to the museum.
This show will demonstrate what can be done to an old house. Free coffee and

MUSEUMS IN THE MOVIES: A FILM CLIP FESTIVAL will be shown
at 2 p.m. (snow date, Jan. 24) at the Michele and Donald D'Amour Museum of Fine
Arts, 21 Edwards St., Springfield. Dr. Mary Malloy will show some of the dozens
of film clips of museums in movies that she has collected for her course on the
history of museums at Harvard. Coffee and cookies will be served. The program

PLAYGROUP AT THE AGAWAM CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH will be
held 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 12
THE SNOWFLAKE FAIRY will fly in for afternoon of songs,
stories, games and movement to celebrate winter at the Agawam Public Library.
The program is for children ages two through nine. Registration is required by
calling the Children's Desk at 789-1550, ext. 4 or visit www.agawamlibrary.org.
THE AGAWAM SENIOR CENTER will host a free movie at 12:30
p.m. ("New in Town"). The public is welcome.
DROP-IN SIT & KNIT is offered from 1-3 p.m. at the
Agawam Public Library with instructor Sandy Ellis. Sit & Knit meets weekly.
No registration is needed for this program.
Wednesday, Jan. 13
A BALLET STORYTIME AND MINI BALLET LESSON will be offered
at the Agawam Public Library at 6 p.m. Budding ballerinas age four through
eight are invited. Socks or dance shoes are required. Registration is limited.
